Cyclone Shaheen

At least 13 people have been killed after tropical cyclone Shaheen battered parts of Oman and Iran. Authorities said 14.5 inches (369mm) of rain fell on Al-Khaboura, north-west of Oman’s capital city, Muscat, while more than 7.5 inches (200mm) was recorded in Muscat itself. Shaheen’s high winds also caused waves of up to 32 feet (10m) along the coast. State agencies were continuing to rescue people that had been trapped by the floodwaters and started restoring damaged roads to get aid into the areas that needed it. More than 5,000 people moved into shelters that had been set up in affected provinces.

Analysis-Ready Data (ARD)

Analysis-Ready Data (ARD) is Maxar's subscription service providing users access to time-series stacks of imagery with specific preprocessing (atmospheric compensation, radiometric correction, orthorectification and alignment) to minimize the work and time required to derive answers from pixels. OpenStreetMap Exception

In the licensing terms, DigitalGlobe has a stated exception for OpenStreetMap. OSM is allowed to use imagery released under the Open Data Program. Even though OSM enables commercial usage, OSM is a critical platform for the disaster response community. Allowing usage of our imagery in OSM will enable faster data access by local communities as well as global relief efforts.
