California and Colorado Fires
Firefighters are working around the clock to contain multiple large wildfires in California. Lightning has been responsible for more than 500 fires in just the past week. More than 10 million people in the west are under red-flag warnings – meaning warm temperatures, very low humidity and strong winds are expected. Our focus areas at this time, but not limited to, are the LNU, SCU, CZU Lightning Complex Fires, as well as the Carmel and River Fires. We’re also covering several major wildfires burning in Colorado right now as well, including the second-largest in state history, the Pine Gulch Fire, which has grown to more than 135,000 acres. In Colorado we’re focusing on the Pine Gulch, Grizzly Creek, Cameron Peak and Williams Fork Fires.
