What to expect

Your manager and functional team will guide you through an immersive experience, complete with real-world assignments, a dedicated mentor and training. Our intern program provides a collaborative environment for students to explore interests and cultivate skills for success.  

Additional activities include: 

  • Executive leadership speaker series 
  • Lunch-and-Learn workshops 
  • Career support resources (resume writing, presentation skills, LinkedIn tips, etc) 
  • Social events

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled college/university student with at least one academic term left in school after completion of the internship 
  • Sophomore, junior, or senior undergraduate status or masters or PhD student at time of application (for technical roles) 
  • Minimum preferred GPA of 3.0 
  • U.S. Persons defined as one of the following: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, Asylee, or Refugee

Are Maxar internships paid?

Yes, all internships offer competitive compensation.

Are there opportunities for full-time employment after internships?

Depending on the work and business sector, there may be an opportunity to continue on in a part-time status through your senior year of school. In addition, we invite all past interns to apply to any open entry-level position prior to graduation.

When should I apply?

Maxar internships will be posted to our website in the fall (early September). We encourage you to apply early as we expect to fill 90% or more prior to the end of the calendar year for the following summer.

If I applied last year and was not selected, can I apply again this year?

Absolutely! We encourage you to apply for any positions of interest. Make sure you update your resume to reflect your qualifications for your desired position. Let us know about any leadership roles you have had as well. 

What is the interview process?

Most intern interviews are conducted between you and the hiring manager over phone or video-conferencing. 

Are all Maxar internships in person?

Yes, we believe that an intern has the optimal experience to learn and be engaged in our Maxar culture by being onsite during their internship. This allows you to work directly with the talented colleagues of Maxar.

Does Maxar pay for relocation or housing?

Interns are responsible for finding their own housing solutions for the summer. Maxar will provide suggestions for finding housing in the markets we have students working and will assist with connecting you with other interns via a LinkedIn group after the offer has been accepted.

Does Maxar sponsor any visas?

Eligible applicants must be a U.S. Persons defined as one of the following: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, Asylee, or Refugee.

When are the internships?

Maxar internships occur in the summer – typically May-August.

Where are the internships located?

Maxar internships depend on the needs of the business but can be located across our locations.
